Last year, the Rogers radio crew was calling away games in studio via a monitor. But eventually, the company relented and let them hit the road for the end of the season.
This year, it's root for the home team only from home. Whatever happens to the Jays and their playoff hopes on away games, Ben Wagner and whoever his colour man is on any given day, won't be with them. Sportsnet has confirmed the travel budget is gone. (Apparently, the TV guys and gals are still allowed to make the trips.)
What's interesting to me about the linked article is that every single person the Canadian Press reporter tried to interview - Wagner and senior V.P. Greg Sansone among them - were denied. Maybe their corporate masters at Rogers would not have loved the answers. But really, how much could sending two people with the rest of the crew have cost?
Roadblock: Blue Jays radio broadcasters won't be returning to road this season

I wonder if the budget has been cut for the corporate jets and yachts?

Hey folks, Have some sensitivity. Rogers is engaged in an epic lawsuit with counterclaims, vs. Joe Natale. The tens of millions of $$$ at stake in the lawsuits, and the outside legal fees with the "7-Sisters" law firms, would keep Ben Wagner and his production team on the road for many years. Guess the bean counters are keeping those road costs in their reserves...in case they lose. LOL.

The Jays should be furious and start negotiating with another...oh.
