This isn't a local story but he's the radio tech equivalent of Cal Ripken, for having a continuous Iron Man streak. And it's only appropriate, since both were involved in baseball. His name is Chris Majkowski and he's the engineer who keeps the Mets games on WCBS-AM. He hasn't missed a single shift since Aug. 8, 1993 - that's 4,763 consecutive games.
Not sure how long Tom Young, the veteran man-behind-the-scenes on the Jays radio games, has been around, but you hear his name on every broadcast and he's been doing it since the Tom Cheek/Jerry Howarth days.
