Where Ambulances Can Now Turn Off Your Car Radio
It's happening in Sweden, but you can only wonder how long it will be before this technology comes here. It allows an emergency vehicle to effectively turn off your music, no matter how loud the volume may be.

Does anyone remember a system from Blaupunkt for traffic. We used it at CHFI in the early 80's, had a button on the console we'd press and the in-car radios would switch to 98.1 for traffic reports. It never really went anywhere, but it was nice to know you could command an audience when you had a really good segue coming up you wanted someone to hear

Serious ?
That sounds intriguing. Would it only work on the cars being "taken over" if they had a Blaupunkt in dash system ?
Surprised the CRTC did not have anything to say as the "take over" could presumably be extended.

I still remember the promos for the CHFI 'ARI' traffic reports, which with Russ n' Darryl at the time made it sound like the copywriter was dyslexic.
It was a button along the bottom of the board along with the mic, cart and TT Start/stop buttons etc. so yes, it got hit 'accidentally' and I'm sure was forgotten about at the end of a report more than once.
