In the same month Corus announced it's cutting staff (see Bill Kelly's departure from CHML) comes news that it's also adding a few programs on Saturday nights.
Beginning this weekend (August 19th), AM640 will be airing two new shows, "Toronto Threads" and "Toronto Tomorrow." The first is hosted by frequent fill-in David Peck, who otherwise makes his living as a magician, amomg other things. (Perhaps they hope he can make an audience appear out of thin air!) It's described as a show that features:
"...in-depth conversations with interesting people who shape Toronto and the GTA, the show focuses on the diverse cultures, experiences and voices that make up the fabric of the city."
In other words, likely more of the same vein he's done in previous guest hosting spots on the station. It airs at 10 PM.

The latter show consists of three hosts from TMU, the former Ryerson, who invite you to "hang out with the city’s most innovative and future-forward thinkers." There are already some samples of the show online at its website as it looks how technology is changing our lives. It airs at 8 PM and has actually been around since April.
Toronto Tomorrow
Good or bad, I'm just happy to have something original on the weekend instead of endless rerolls and repackaging of already available podcasts.
