New Ian Thomas today

Heard JAZZ FM91 preview "Right Before Your Eyes" about a week-and-a-half ago and loved it. Was able to buy it days later,  and "Painted Ladies" (my favourite track so far, another stunner) ahead of the album's release date, which is today.
It's called "A Life In Song (Orchestra Sessions). You can read about it here:

Do yourself a favour, check it out at iTunes.

Re: New Ian Thomas today

Ian's always written and recorded great songs.  I remember him telling me that he recorded the song "Pilot" while lying down on the floor.

Good to see you on here Mike.  Hope you and Val are doing well.

Re: New Ian Thomas today

This is a special occasion, and if Adma, B.T. and Weisblott would log on, we could all party like it was 1998

Re: New Ian Thomas today

Iain mentions Ian Thomas & his sense of humour.  Both Ian and his brother Dave have told me in the past that the origin of the McKenzie Brothers started at home; when they were much younger.

Re: New Ian Thomas today

Yes John...Ian is an original "hoser".  Ian will be touring his life in song at least into November if not beyond.  I believe his 'lunch-mate' Marc Jordan will be doing something similar.

Tons o' talent.  BOTH of 'em and I respect them both a great deal.

Adma's still around and I'm here piping up once in a while, and Marc monitors things here, but no longer posts here.

This thread goes back a long ways, but this update is rather unfortunate and I've posted it for those here who know the Thomas family.

Re: New Ian Thomas today

This is very sad news regarding Ian's son.  My heart goes out to the family.
