Sharp-eyed reporting on CTV Toronto

https://beta.ctvnews.ca/local/toronto/2023/8/2/1_6504889.amp.html

Some sharp observational work by CTV's Jon Woodard and/or his video person during Thursday's protests over allowing or banning vehicles in High Park. I'm not sure if this angle is in the item with the above link. But here's the gist: A man drove his car on the road through where the protesters were (no injuries), then returned a few minutes and told the protesters he was a city employee, that the city was aware of everyone's concerns, and that everyone should go home. But CTV realized he was that driver and challenged him, causing the guy to say no comment and walk away. I know that's complicated if you didn't see the story, but it was great work by CTV exposing the con man. Can the fake employee be charged with impersonation or misrepresenting?

I've been very impressed with Jon's investigative reporting for CTV. He's got a bright future ahead of him.

Considering how the idiot drove into a human being with his car and pushed them out of the way with it, he should be worried about an assault charge related to that deed, not about impersonating a city worker.   Can't use the car as a weapon.    What a kooker.

Re: Sharp-eyed reporting on CTV Toronto

My favourite part was when Jon said to the guy, “it looks like we have a video of you pushing your car into the protesters”, and he said, “No you don’t” 😄😄😄

And the City has identified him as an employee!  (Sorry, I don’t know how to embed tweets)
