Talk about getting ready to launch. NASA, the U.S. space agency, is joining the free streaming parade, with plans to start its own service. It will be available online and on all the usual free places, and will cover upcoming missions.
But perhaps what's most unusual about it is this - unlike the NASA Channel that's currently on same cable systems in the U.S., this one promises regular series as well. It's not clear what kind of "series" that will entail, but to fill up an entire network will be both expensive and expansive. And hopefully, worth watching.
"Due later this year, the new platform will be free to watch and won’t come with annoying ad breaks. Nasa+, as it will be known, will also feature original series and a handful of new shows at launch."
