Canadians who subscribe to the "basic" service of Netflix - i.e. the one without any ads - are about to see their subscription rates go up. Without much notice, the streamer is eliminating the $10 a month rate many have been paying for years. It's rising to $16.49/month, unless you want to pay almost 6 bucks every 30 days and sit through some ads.
If they haven't yet, current subscribers will see their rates change to the new amount soon.

How much for a Netflix where I don't have to pay anything at all, but there's tons of ads?
Not free? Why not?
They can't get my attention for free as is. There is a 30 day free trial that I have been offered time and time again, but I keep saying no thanks.
If they can't get my attention for free, they will indeed not get my attention @ $16.99 a month.
