Crave is the latest streaming service to dip a toe into the waters of cheaper prices in exchange for watching commercials. The new deal the Bell owned programmer is offering subscribers is two-tiered with ads - one $9.99/month, the other $14.99. The ad-free rate remains intact.

I think we're going to have to see more and more of this.
The simple fact is, advertisers footing the bill for content generates more revenue than subscribers paying10 or 15 dollars a month. The hard facts are we have three options going forward: 1. We have to accept ads again. 2. We have to pay a lot more. 3. A lot of content will disappear. We're in a golden age of great TV but it doesn't make a profit in most cases.

I think we will also see a lot more product placement in movies, TV, and streaming content. It helps secure revenue for the entertainment that be.
