The City of Memphis has just redesigned its website, offering residents there access to new services over the Internet. And one of them is a Memphis-themed online radio station featuring either songs that mention their city or artists who come from the area.
Would Toronto be interested in setting up something similar? Granted, there aren't a lot of his songs that mention T.O. in the lyrics. And how many times can you play "People City" by Tommy Ambrose? But there are a large number of artists from the G.T.A. who could fill such a bill and it would give them some much needed exposure.
It's not a real radio station, per se, but it's an intriguing idea. I just wonder if anyone would actually bother streaming it.
Here's the Memphis one, if you're curious, which is in collaboration with iHeart Radio.

Star Ray TV already did this, in fact, they might still be doing this right now...
(but they do NOT have a CRTC licence to air on UHF 15...)
