Warner Music Group is now streaming three all music channels on the Roku Channel. It's the first time the music giant has licenced stations involving solely music to a major streamer. In addition to songs and videos, there will be programs exploring the life stories of various musicians. (See the menu here.)
For now, it's mostly rap and hip hop artists, but the service hopes to possibly expand into other areas if the channels become populat with viewers. One caveat: it's geoblocked, so you'll need a VPN set to the U.S. to watch it.
"The new channels from the music company — WMX Pop, WMX Rock and WMX Hip-Hop — are now available to stream for free on the Roku Channel through the service’s Live TV Guide. WMG is giving Roku a three-month exclusive window on the FAST channels for the U.S. before widening distribution to other platforms."
