CTV News has nearly one million subscribers to their YouTube account who deserve better
CTV News recently posted a video featuring anchor Omar Sachedina introducing a piece about the Jewell Langford cold case. She was murdered in 1975 in Eastern Ontario. And an arrest has been made.
So far so good.
But my issue is with the headline in their post. It reads as follows...
"1975 Ontario Cold Case Solved"
What in the hell is wrong with these news outfits?

Is this another example of people locked in a parallel universe?

What headline would you have posted, UncleFestey?
A better headline would be "Arrest Made in 1975 Cold Case."
The person has been arrested, not charged. That's for the courts to decide,

Absolutely, Dale, that headline would have tied it up perfectly.
But I wouldn't blame the first headline entirely on an "intern."
The Associated Press recently took flak for a headline about the latest Palestinian Israeli violence.
An experienced newswriter wrote that Israeli troops were "hunting" for possible Palestinian militants.
Some Jewish groups complained because it sounded like Israelis were "hunting" for humans like they were game animals to be killed instead of searching for possible militants.
