It's bad enough that the writers who compose the stories for your favourite shows and movies have been on strike for nine long weeks. Now, the performers who say their words may be next. The Screen Actors' Guild has been threatening a walkout for a while and the deadline, unless extended, is Friday.
Without the people who write the scripts, Hollywood has come to a virtual standstill. But at least those screenplays that were finished are being produced. This would completely shut down everything, if the current productions, few as there are, come to a sudden halt.
A strike would likely also affect Canada, where a ton of U.S. films and TV shows are made, putting crews here out of work for what could be a very long time. So there's a lot at stake in both countries if things go the wrong way south of the border.
