Former NBC News Anchor Tom Brokaw Suffering From Incurable Cancer

Tom Brokaw was once one of the most famous anchors in America on NBC.

Now he's counting the days until blood cancer takes his life.

The newsman admits he's lived longer than his own doctors expected, but his illness has forced him to walk away from a TV "emeritus" gig he really loved. He's written a book about his life and career and will be featured this weekend - somewhat ironically - on CBS' Sunday Morning, and not on any NBC show.

Re: Former NBC News Anchor Tom Brokaw Suffering From Incurable Cancer

We all suffer from one thing or another; but I had a friend die of this form of cancer a few yeas ago.  It was tough to see him suffer.  Good luck Tom, and thanks for the wonderful piece you did on Canada a few years ago.

Jane Pauley was his colleague and is his friend so I suspect that's why he talked to her.  I don't think he and NBC are on bad terms.
