BOB FM Still Somewhat Of A Thing In The US
A radio brand that left Canada a few years back still happens in the US. BOB FM originated out of Winnipeg on CHUM Group's CFWM in 2002 with the Turn Your Knob To BOB, and We Play Anything phrases. Most BOB stations had a playlist of over 1,000 songs. CFWM's Howard Kroeger is credited with developing the format according to wiki. Apparently BOB had it's debut prior to the very popular JACK FM.
Kroeger now lives in the US and heads up Kroeger Media which has over 100 stations using the BOB, HANK and DUKE imaging.
Recently two stations flipped to the variety hits sound of BOB in the US. More from Radio Insight..

Another station that has the BOB FM imaging, and for quite a while in fact(since January 2007), is Erie PA's WXBB(94.7 BOB FM), which is owned by iHeart.
