Last month, AM 640's John Oakley inexplicably took his show on the road for what wound up amounting to a three-hour informercial for Canada's Wonderland, which had opened for the season that day. It was, in the opinion of many here, nothing but a long commercial for the theme park, featuring interviews with its Entertainment Director, Ride Supervisor and an Exec. from the attraction. 

What it didn't contain was almost anything relevant about what was in the news that day, which, after all, is what the show is supposed to be about. 

Which leads you to wonder about what will happen Tuesday afternoon, as Oakley and his crew are out at Riverdale Farm for 180 minutes from 3 - 6 PM. My suspicion is all the usual topics will fly out the barn door, as they talk about how many llamas the place has and how to do gardening. 

That's not what I tune in for and it sounds for all the world like some of the more boring weekend shows some stations do - not an afternoon drive program on a major market Toronto radio station. We'll find out if the worst is yet to come at 3 PM. But I feel like I'll be doing a lot of dial twisting by then.
