Re: Don Daynard

Unfortunately, there doesn't appear to be any such info available yet, but if anyone knows (like Erin Davis) or some of the other folks here, I hope they'll post it.

In the meantime, there's an absolutely amazing treasure trove of Don Daynard recollections on YouTube, put up about a decade ago by someone or a group named "Radio Viz." (Lots of other great stuff there, including many reminiscences from SOWNY member Doug Thompson about his years at CHUM.)

It's a bit hard to find in the pages and pages of videos there, so here's a shortcut reference guide.

Re: Don Daynard

As a long-time friend of Don and Lynda, no formal funeral, just family.

Re: Don Daynard

Radio Viz is/was Bob Magee and Richard Maxwell. They video taped interviews with people in broadcasting, split each interview into segments, titled the segments, and posted them to YouTube.

Re: Don Daynard

And thanks to them, we have some great vignettes from some of the best in local radio, including Don Daynard. Thanks for clarifying.

Noticed his obit in the Toronto Star over the weekend - and it contains info not on the funeral arrangements you asked about, but a celebration of life. And no, you haven't missed it - it's not until May 6th.

I had no idea his real name was "Danard" with no "y." Probably added it to make it easier to pronounce. His obit also mentions his interest in Egyptology and the Titanic - who knew?

And when was the last time you saw an obituary that contained a special thank you to CHFI?

You can leave a personal message for the family here
