Gillian Findlay, known and respected for her work on the iconic Canadian tv show The Fifth Estate has announced that after over three decades, she's chosen to step away from the CBC.
In the many replies to this tweet it's clear she will be greatly missed.
I hope Gillian continues to work in journalism.

Gillian had over 30 years at CBC and also was recruited by ABC News in 1994. She was a foreign correspondent for ABC for 8 years. Returned back to CBC in 2002 to co-host CBC News: Disclosure and then joined the Fifth Estate in 2004. She couldn't come to an agreement with CBC to allow her to work more from home, so she decided to retire. She is 63 so could very well return with another media organization at some point.

It's nice to have a defined pension plan so you can walk away from a good gig.
