The Weird Promo Running On CFRB

There's a promo that's been running for a few weeks on CFRB and I just heard it yet again seconds before posting this. It's for Jerry Agar's show and it doesn't matter whether you love the host or hate him, the 30 sec. spot has been running with an obvious mistake in it since it was inserted into the run.

It starts with an announcer intoning Agar's name, and then a clip from his show. So far, so good. But then it goes completely off the rails. As the announcer continues his info pitch with when it's on and why you should listen, they play another clip from the Agar show. The problem? Both of them run at exactly the same time. So you have written copy and the show excerpt talking over each other as the promo ends.

As a result, you can't clearly hear anything and the whole thing is lost.

I can't believe that a) they let this go out of the production studio and that b) absolutely no one seems to have noticed after all these weeks. This thing needs to go back to the shop to fix it. Otherwise, it's just gibberish. (Although I'm aware some who hate Jerry think his whole show is already that! But it shouldn't be how they sell it.)

Re: The Weird Promo Running On CFRB

Not surprising.  Their "newsroom" has been destroyed their "Authoritative" news voice is a joke, the traffic department doesn't know what time it is and most of their programming seems to change based upon the weather.  All displayed in their latest numbers, a drop faster than the value of a share in TESLA.  Embarrassing!

Maybe Robert Turner, now in a management role there, could get word to someone who could correct this. You could try him at robert.turner AT bellmedia DOT ca.

If email doesn't do the trick you could let Robert know about the spotty spot with a DM or tweet, here's a link to his Twitter account, named for his old 5am show "The Early Edition." Although with Twitter changing everything around, I don't know what guidelines are now in place for DMing someone.

p.s. Along with Dave Agar and John Moore, Robert is a nimble presence in the Twitterverse.
