. . . this is the time of year we resolve to remember old friends and I just had the pleasure of a visit with long-time SOWNY contributor Mike M. who used to post frequently as "Mic'em" (to distinguish himself from Mike Marshall, which had become confusing to some). Mike said he now is a frequent lurker and continues to be a huge fan of M. Stafford and other broadcasters and is very much enjoying his post-radio career in the automotive towing industry. He also asked me to pass on Season's Greetings to all. This is that.

Michael obviously is not the only SOWNY lurker -- over five hundred views

Thanks Iain for the new password. And thanks geo for the mention. Just for the uninformed , I was a radio performer thru out the 70's and into the mid 80's with my final gig being morning host on the former CKMW Brampton before the sale and format switch to multicultural. Also a production voice for the Spirit of Radio CFNY which shared studios . In 1986 at age 34 I saw the writing on the wall for the future of radio and job security and went for an AZ truck license and haven't been out of work since. Now at age 60, I operate a flatbed tow truck in the Collingwood/Wasaga area but still listen to radio constantly instead of playing cd's or other formats in my truck. As geo pointed out, I am a fan of talk radio with my primary choice being 640. The up the dial stations do not have strong signal strength up here and to be honest, I am just not a fan of their content. I left this board after the last edition of it ended thanks to that one certain individual who ruined it. I do appreciate the effort Iain has put in to revive Sowny and have read posts most days if I had time to get online.

I should mention while speaking about old acquaintances I ran into Nancy Ball last week who also worked at 83 Kennedy in the 80's and we had a nice catch up conversation while I hooked up her car for a tow. She may be known to some of the members here as a freelance voice talent and still has that young at heart personality that we all loved.
