Veteran Radio Newsman Garfield Chesson passed away February 7, 2023 in Kitchener.  Garfield was News Director, Toronto Newsroom, CKO All-News Radio in the late 1970s, taking on additional responsibilities as News Director and Station Manager, CKO All-News Radio, Edmonton and Calgary.  Following this, Garfield joined the Ontario Editorial Bureau (OEB) as a Senior Consultant and Vice President.  I had the pleasure of working with Garfield at CKO Toronto and later at the Ontario Editorial Bureau.  He was a seasoned journalist who had, in his early career, transitioned from print journalist at the Hamilton Spectator to a long and distinguished career as a dedicated radio journalist.  It was indeed fortunate if you had the privilege of working with Garfield as a newsroom colleague and knowing him as a friend.
