Re: Detroit Radio News Anchor Murdered

Turns out, as happens way too often, the accused had a long and troubling criminal history, including aggravated assault, attempted murder, kidnapping, breaking and entering and other gun charges. A real sweetheart. How he knew the victim's family still isn't clear but cops believe they let him in their home.

There are bound to be questions about why a guy with this kind of past was out on parole in the first place. One thing seems certain, though - if he's convicted, authorities aren't likely to make that mistake again.

Re: Detroit Radio News Anchor Murdered

It's been a while, but this tragic murder has finally taken the first steps towards a trial. The alleged details of the killing are chilling and the terror the anchor must have felt on opening the door to his home after a long shift at work is truly frightening.

“He walked into the bathroom… and grabbed him by the head and slit his throat,” she testified. “Before he slit his throat, Jim said, ‘Oh God.’”

The killer convicted in the brutal murder of a WWJ news anchor will never see another free day, with a judge calling him "the embodiment of evil" at sentencing.
