Radio Mystery: U.S. Morning Man Missing. Did He Take His Own Life?

This isn't local but what an incredibly sad story this is. A well-known morning man for a San Francisco radio station disappeared on Feb.23rd and hasn't been seen or heard from since.

The jock, Jeffrey Vandergrift, known as "JV," does the all-important morning drive show on Wild-FM in the Northen California city.

Police have issued an APB for the jock, noting he's believed to be "at risk." There is reason to fear he may have done something to himself, because of a bizarre post he left on social media before he disappeared.

The message was originally put up last year, but someone changed the caption just before he went missing. What's left now seems ominous.

"Thank you for a wonderful life-filed w joy, laughs, pain & struggle," it reads. "It’s been a great journey. Your support & prayers meant the world. Keep shinin.’

Police and the radio station are pleading with anyone who has seen the missing man to call them immediately. JV has been part of the radio market in the state since the 1990s.

As you can imagine, the story has been big news down there, making it onto TV newscasts, social media and even other radio stations. But there's still no sign of the veteran jock. A very disturbing radio story and fortunately, not one you hear too often.
