Bell Media Finds A Way To Diss Lisa LaFlamme One Last Time

Her firing sparked headlines around the world and put the heat on Bell Media management. Now it appears those execs have learned nothing from the humiliation they suffered with their decisions over letting former CTV National News anchor Lisa LaFlamme go without explanation last year.

The Toronto Star reveals that the network's national news was nominated for several Canadian Screen Awards for shows anchored by LaFlamme - but they appear to have deliberately taken her out of consideration for the prize. So LaFlamme put her own name in for the honour.

"Multiple sources told the Star that LaFlamme was hurt by the perceived snub and chose to independently nominate herself for an award as best national news anchor. On Wednesday, a jury of the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television named her as one of three finalists. The sources requested anonymity, citing fear of professional repercussions."

Bell Media wouldn’t nominate Lisa LaFlamme for an award — so she did it herself

They're kinda screwed either way (deservedly,) but I'd argue nominating her would be far worse PR than not -- unless the nomination came with an apology and a job offer.
