For the past six weeks we've been at our place in Florida. This year, I'm able to listen to one of my favourite CBC programs, As it Happens.
Our local NPR station now carries it every evening at 10:00 PM

You obviously have an Internet connection. Which means you could always listen to it on the CBC.ca website, either live (as it happens, so to speak) or the podcast version, which goes up shortly after it airs. Just hit the play button on this site. No need to wait for NPR.

I don't need to wait. 10:00 PM is right for me. Prime time. Besides, I can listen to it on my radio while relaxing on the patio. Why would I wanr to sit at my desk to listen on the laptop?

If you have WiFi, you may be able to take your laptop outside and see if it's in range. If it is, you're good to go. I do that almost every night in the summer. And you're lucky enough to have the summer right now!

Whether I'm here or whether I'm at home, at the time AIH airs, I'm usually out for a walk. When I'm at home I can listen by taking my Walkman alomg. I can't do that here.
