Joe Spence worked for CJOH and CBC radio and TV in the Nation's Capital and was a fixture there for decades. He was the voice of the Sudbury Wolves, did CFL games on TV and briefly was on the play-by-play team for the Toronto Toros of the WHA.
In his later years, he suffered perhaps the worst fate for a longtime announcer - a cancer that eventually led to his no longer being able to speak. He was 92.
