Could there be a connection to the fact that more are returning to the office & spending an hour (minimum), in each direction, in their vehicles, commuting? (perhaps just a coincidence)
Almost certainly the main cause.

Could there be a connection to the fact that more are returning to the office & spending an hour (minimum), in each direction, in their vehicles, commuting? (perhaps just a coincidence)
According to the article radio's share of all in car listening increased to 62% last fall compared to the spring at 59%. In their headline they credit the increase in out of home tuning to Canadians returning to the office. The pie chart breakdown is interesting.
