This probably isn't new to everyone here, but since I'm not a Sportsnet subscriber, it was to me. The Rogers-owned sports network has branched out into video games, with a free offering called "Hockeyland." It offers players the chance to "hunt" for special shinny skills and equipment, before they head to the playoffs and the goal of winning the ultimate championship.ย
I'm not a fan of hockey or video games, per se, but it's interesting that they decided to go in this direction as a promotional tool. As far as I can tell, it's been out for a few months. But there is one huge caveat: you have to own Minecraft in order to play it.ย

Does not surprise me, remember it is Rogers, not the best at on air promos and branding.
