Stu Jeffries/BOOM Make-A-Wish Minute

Congratulations to Stu Jeffries and BOOM 97.3 in raising over $550,000 ($561,000 final total) in the annual Make-A-Wish Minute.
The money will grant over 55 wishes for children with health challenges.  This years $550,000 goal was surpassed and well above the
the record $465,000 raised last year.  Over the past 8 years the Make-A-Wish Minute has raised over 2 million dollars.

Re: Stu Jeffries/BOOM Make-A-Wish Minute

I hate this contest because the winners are pressured to donate the $1000.00 back. It's exploitative and should be stopped.

Re: Stu Jeffries/BOOM Make-A-Wish Minute

No one is pressuring anyone. During the month of December, contestants are asked to donate a minimum $25 to play, and boom matches the winnings after playing the game. What they do with their winnings, is totally up to them. It just so happens that (believe it or not), most of the people feel the spirit of giving & want to be part of something special, so they give their winning share back or, in some cases, match their winnings and donate that back as well.. Nothing to hate about helping a worthwhile charity.

It is a worthwhile charity but this is public shaming. Just tell the person you have won the $1000.00 and move on.
