It's a three part look at the softer sounds of rock and roll, that made stars out of the likes of Air Supply and Richard Marx. To some, they were insipid records. To others, it was the first button on their car radio. Not everyone is a fan of the genre called "soft rock" but it definitely made its mark on music. 

And that's what's traced in a new documentary about those less than rocking tunes. The program interviews everyone from Toni Tennille (of the Captain & Tennille) to Ray Parker Jr. and Kenny Loggins. And the title should be very familiar to Canadians - it's called "Sometimes When We Touch," based on the old Dan Hill hit. The Canuck musician also appears in the show. 

But to see it, you'll have to subscribe to Paramount Plus, the CBS-owned service, one of several U.S. based streamers that's available in Canada. It came online Tuesday.

"Sometimes When We Touch is the untold story of soft rock, whose artists dominated pop music worldwide in the ‘70s, only to crash and burn in the ‘80s, eventually experiencing one of the most unlikely comebacks in music history,” according to [the network.]
