73-Yr. Old Veteran DJ Refuses To Let Firing Keep Him Off The Air

There is really nothing remarkable about this story, and you've never heard of this guy because he's in Tampa, Florida. But when this 73-year-old veteran DJ got cut loose by the rock station he'd worked at for years, he refused to take it lying down. So he built a studio in his basement and is broadcasting two different stations from there, via some low power FMs. And now he's planning to syndicated an 80s music show.

It's not often TV even bothers to mention radio exists, so it's nice to see a 3-minute story on a newscast about a guy who would otherwise be just another discarded radio voice.

And while I'm sure it's not real, you gotta love his on-air name: Mason Dixon. I'm sure that's not just one of his Lines!

Longtime Tampa radio DJ Mason Dixon runs multiple radio shows from his home, broadcasting all over the world
