I kind of feel bad for CFRB, which long ago picked Thursday to hold its annual Hospital for Sick Children's fundraising marathon. It runs all day on the station and there's no doubt, it's a great cause. It's just unfortunate they picked a day when the first and perhaps the worst snowstorm of the year is hitting the city and threatens to become a huge story.
They can still do their tubthumping for the hospital, but it's almost certain to be interrupted for weather warnings, elongated traffic updates, school closures, bus delays, possible power outages and other consequences that always happen when a huge storm slams into the GTA. Especially when it's the first one of the year.
It may also prevent guests from getting to the location of the fundraiser, although I suppose they could go on Zoom if necessary, but it's not ideal.
We'll see how it goes and I wish them well, but it may not exactly be what's on the average listener's - you should pardon the expression - radar all day Thursday

Perhaps they could just report on the conditions they see in the hospital.

the conditions are serious and heartbreaking 💔
perhaps 1010's day of talking about the hospital will help draw attention and put pressure on the actual people responsible and who can do something about it
