The longtime host of The Price is Right, and favourite punching bag of Happy Gilmore, turned 99 on Monday. He’s out of the public spotlight these days and hasn’t made a public appearance in a number of years now, but according to his girlfriend in a Fox News article, he is in good health for his age.
Bob, of course got his start in radio, first on KTTS-FM in Springfield, MO and then doing an audience participation show at KNX Los Angeles where he was “discovered” by a game show producer.
Here’s to hoping he makes 100!

I miss Bob Barker. I hope someday we get to see some classic episodes from the 70's 80's and 90's on TV soon rather than YouTube. I like to see some from the 70's because my parents were born in that decade.

Good news! If you have a VPN set to the U.S., you can watch vintage TPIR all day and all night 24 hours a day on Pluto TV. The channel, called The Barker Era, streams on demand on Pluto.tv but only in the U.S., hence the need for the VPN. As the name implies, it's all Bob Barker shows, non-stop.
You can find it here.
(By the way, they also have an all Alex Trebek Jeopardy! channel if that interests you.)

Seems only appropriate that he's 99, because he's the Wayne Gretzky of game show hosts!

Actually, I hope he is in good enough health to make a very much surprise appearance on The Price is Right.
Just pop up instead of Drew and wave to everybody! Hopefully well enough to say "I still got it!!"
Drew would appear right after Bob does his first round saying "Bob Barker everybody!!!"
That would be nice...unfortunately, who knows what really is possible (or not)

TPIR had a 50th anniversary special about a year ago and Drew Carey mentioned in his tribute to Bob that Bob “couldn’t be there”. That could have been due to Covid precautions though.
I was surprised he didn’t record a video greeting.
