Bell made a big deal about signing the veteran political correspondent as the new host of Power Play on their Newschannel, Question Period on CTV, and the host of the noon-2 PM show on the iHeart Radio Talk Network. She officially started on Dec. 1st and I thought they were giving her a few days to get her bearings.
But on Monday, she wasn't hosting the radio show and I'm not entirely sure if we'll see her on the cable news network, either. Is there an official date when she'll actually be taking over all these shows?

We now know the answer - The Vassy Kapelos Show will replace Newstalk Today beginning Monday from noon-2PM on iHeart Radio's Talk Network, effectively taking over Evan Solomon's show. But she won't be starting her duties on CTV News Channel or Sunday's Question Period until the New Year.

Your first chance to hear if Vassy Kapelos lives up to her successor, Evan Solomon, comes at noon Monday on the iHeart Talk Radio Network, which is CFRB in these parts. Hopefully, she'll be as good as he was.

Correct. Brain cramp, but you're right.
Solomon did call in to congratulate her on her first show and was, in effect, her first guest. He said he's still commuting between Ottawa and New York as he tries to sell his house in the nation's capital and move down south. How times change. Whoever thought selling a house would be a problem? Gone are the days when they sold within 24 hours of being listed - if not before even making the list.

As exciting as Solomon's commute and real estate transactions are the thread is about her. I thought she did a very capable job and seemed very aware of her national audience and tried topoint how each of the topics covered related to multiple regions of the country. She directed her producer on air which I don't like but all in all it was a very good first show. In fact it didn't sound like a first show at all. She sounded right at home and delivered on radio just as capably as she always does on TV.

Her show was enjoyable. She was pretty likable, and seemed to know her stuff. Maybe they can just keep her on from noon all the way to 6 pm, and avoid that unlistenable 'Rush' gong show altogether.
