Worked with Barks a few years back, and remember his "Barks Bites" segments on Barrie's Rock 95... it was awesome to hear that he had rebounded from that stroke and was back on the air so quickly.

Bruce and CJOY/Magic 106.1 have supported The Guelph General Hospital in the past with fundraisers/radiothons for new MRI equipment and other updates for the hospital. I have used Guelph General many times in the past, and it is a great hospital with dedicated caring staff. I listen to Bruce on CJOY/Magic and so glad he is coming along well after his stroke.
My older brother had a series of strokes and was in ICU in Kitchener for ten days and then moved to the stroke unit at Cambridge Memorial. He was there for three months. When he went in he could neither talk or walk. When he left three months later he could do both.
I always remember when he was leaving, six of the staff in the stroke unit all lined up, gave him a hug, shook his hand and wished him all the best. A very nice touch that I will always remember and appreciate.

"...more than a year after his stroke, he walked into the CJOY/Magic studio.
"It felt pretty emotional to be back behind a microphone. “Luckily the shift started at 4 a.m., so I [could] cry with nobody else in the studio,” he says."
