What Is Going On With AM 640's Signal?

Sometime after noon, AM 640's signal began sounding like the on-air talent was standing by a kitchen sink with the faucet on full blast. At first I thought it was just a lousy connection involving Rubina Ahmed-Haq, who was filling in for Kelly Cutrara and I thought may have been doing her show via a bad remote.

But then I heard it straight through the spots (although it's often covered a bit on those if the levels are high and there's music) and it's continued right into John Oakley's show. It's extremely hard to listen to after a while and there's no apparent explanation. I'm not sure if they've referred to it on air, but they probably should say something because it's impossible to not hear it. And it makes the regular programming very hard to listen to for any length of time.

Someone use the Jiffy app to call a plumber, stat!

Wild guess, because why not....they have a stereo STL and one of the channels has gone to static.

Does this happen on the HD2 signal on 95.3?

I heard it at the end of Oakley's show at 6, which means it had been going for at least 8 hours. But as of 7 PM, it appears they've finally fixed it.
