98.1 Signal issues in London

Anyone having signal issues on 98.1FM in London? I am in the signal range very horrible signal. Was fine last night. Maybe CHFI in Toronto Booted up it's signal to overtake London?

Very doubtful any illegal power increase happened by the Toronto station.       If anything it could have been transmitter issues by the Blackburn owned station in London causing them to send out a lower powered signal, environmental issues like Tropo or E-skip, or simply interference from another source happened.

CHFI would have no interest in London anyway.   It's too far away to sell advertising, they own Easy 101.3 which would eat away at their market share if they did.    The signals are simply very close spaced now and any environmental issue, power drop by a co-channel station etc can allow the distant station to come in and take over on FM on the same frequency.   FM radios typically lock in on the strongest signal.

It's a station I never listen to, but I just checked it out now. Of course, there's no signal problems right here in London. Maybe you should contact the station.

A few years back, CBC Radio I reduced their power here without any kind of announcement. After a couple of weeks, they reported that no one had complained, so they would continue at reduced power.
