Canada's World Cup run came to an end today, losing to Croatia.  CTV/TSN coverage has been excellent so far and on both networks lots of local content from Qatar.

Over on Sportsnet another live world championship event had Canada battling Australia for the Davis Cup. Canada was victorious with Felix Auger Aliassime defeating Alex de Minaur.  This was Canada's first Davis Cup.  In 2019 we were runner up to Spain.

A huge moment for tennis in this country, but nobody here would see this.  About 10 minutes into the final set the satellite went dead.  The two hosts at Sportsnet apologized many times but the satellite feed never came back for the final.  All the hosts could do was relay when Aliassime picked up a game and talked about the progress over the years of the Canadian team.
 
About half an hour after the match was over they were able to show an interview with Felix.
