Nov. 21st Is World TV Day

it's a semi-meaningless United Nations-declared day to mark what - up until the Internet and the age of streaming - had been the most influential medium of modern times. I fell in love with the box when I was just a small kid and remember often marveling at how you could get so much entertainment for free seven days a week.

TV or not TV - that is the question, even as its influence starts to wane. And while it's just an excuse to celebrate a great invention, I kind of like the idea of having a day devoted to the thing that almost raised me! So happy World TV Day. Even if it's kind of a meaningless idea, it just might get a great "reception."

Substitute a cell phone sized screen for the last one and this Nov. 1964 cartoon is still accurate!
