CTV Toronto News Needs No Introduction - But Had One Anyway

For years, CFTO's news has run an intro consisting solely of a musical sting, before the anchors introduce themselves. So it was with some surprise that I heard them play a very old spoken-word intro voiced by the now retired former anchor Ken Shaw leading into their noon news on Friday.

A one-off or is this permanent? I guess we'll see - and hear - as the days go on.

Not repeated on the 6. I wonder why they played that at noon.

I know on CTV London and CTV Windsor. They use the voice over in the introductions on the 6PM news like: "CTV News with Reta Ismail" and "CTV News with Stefanie Masotti" Then on the 11PM news the voice over guy says: "This is CTV News". CTV Kitchener used to have a local person do the voice overs for the intros but they stopped doing that and just do the intro with the music string until the news anchor speaks.

It looks like the normal intro CTV news @ Noon always does:
