I watched this Woody Allen production on TCM the other night. Nice reflection of how important radio was to the generation of that era, early to mid 40's. I collected some vintage radios during the summer, so it was interesting to see the real thing being used in their time, even if in a movie.

I saw that movie in an actual theatre when it came out a long time ago, and the only thing that stayed with me all this time is that jingle, "Get Regular With Relax." Odd that that's what stuck in my mind, but it certainly was catchy!

I worked on far too many commercials sessions where the agency or the client wanted the product name said "slower", "with more emphasis", "brighter", "put a little more smile in it" or my favourite of all, "make it BIGGER!!!".

Or one of the other classics, "That was 33 seconds. Can you read it faster, but make it warmer and also read it so it doesn't sound rushed?"
