A radio consulting firm called "Sound Advantage Media" has revealed it's selling two "new" radio formats, at least one of which sounds awfully familiar. The first is called "Classic Songs & Smooth Jazz," a mélange of music that incorporates a range of jazz artists.
The other is called "Classic Top 40," which supposedly mixes great hits with seldom-heard tunes that never get played on the radio. "A mix of “lost” songs not heard on the radio anymore but are big hits and longtime favorites from the 60s-80s – Lots of “wow” factor," the press release reads.
Now where have I heard that before? Oh yeah, from our own Dale Patterson, who's been running "Oh Wow! The Songs Radio Forgot" online for several years.
Hey Dale, maybe you should sue for copyright infringement!

Dale should give it a close listen and see if they agree with his music list...or somehow found their own playlist...
If memory serves, the O! Wow! playlist was created from input Mr. Patterson rec'd from SOWNY contributors

Not exactly true. While SOWNY was quite helpful, I did get input from sources other than Big Yella. But thanks SOWNY!. Folks here really know their music.

It seems the company also has a very well thought out digital strategy. In the second paragraph it says; "Stations interested in either format, reach out for a demo: Gary Begin, garybegin10@gmail.com." Nothing says success like a Gmail address!
