Global Toronto/Montreal noon news goes off the air today

The shared noon newscast on Global Toronto and Montreal were knocked off the air halfway through the broadcast today due to some kind of technical issue. Master control had to dust off last night's recording of Global National in its place.

Wondering why Global couldn't just put their 24/7 streaming news channel on the air in Toronto & Montreal, or even simulcast CHEX or CKWS.

Global News Peterborough had issues this morning. Blank screens. Repeats. Yada, yada. I guess the interns are in control.

Side note: it's interesting that Peterborough have their own noon newscast, while Toronto and Montreal of all stations share a single one...

Another Global issue. We were watching Global News Toronto last evening when the tornado warnings for northeastern Ontario were active.

Several times the English-Sound-portion only played over the on-going news story visual.

Are all stations now eliminating the red screen text overlay in both English and French?
