Bill Lacy Retiring From Buffalo Radio After 50 Years On Air

He'd been a fixture at WBEN for years and another one as the morning man at WHTT-FM. But all that will come to an end on May 27th, when Bill Lacy retires from the biz.

He made the announcement Tuesday on his Classic Hits 104 morning show, noting he's a bit nervous about the financial fallout of quitting work - "apparently Tom Brady ran out of money after six weeks."

The search is underway for a new morning host for the station.

Re: Bill Lacy Retiring From Buffalo Radio After 50 Years On Air

Lacy's always been the kind of person who had a subtle wit; it may have taken a few seconds for you to get the point of a quip he made but it was ALWAYS funny.

Considering that Lacy had a COVID scare last year, that may well have been the impetus for him to hang up the microphone.

Re: Bill Lacy Retiring From Buffalo Radio After 50 Years On Air

Bill Lacy retired on May 31st after half a decade in the business. But it's taken this long for Cumulus to name his replacement in the all-important morning shift. The choice is Laura Daniels, a Western New York native and once the morning host over on WMSX at 96.1.

Oddly her first day will be a Friday - August 19th.
