When breaking news happens and no one is around to cover it.

The US has killed al Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri in drone strike in Afghanistan. Nothing on CBC or CTV news. Just reroll.

Re: When breaking news happens and no one is around to cover it.

Didn't see the other Amnets, but it was the top story on NBC Nightly News at 6:30 PM, with two separate reports and a debrief with Foreign Correspondent Richard Engel. And for a change, their use of "Breaking News" surrounding a story actually fit.

Joe Biden has a press conference announcement on Monday night, despite having COVID. He'll be on a White House balcony with the pool camera dozens of feet away on the ground to prevent any infection spread. That alone will make it unlike any Presidential address in history!

BBC also didn't have the story at 6:30 but did for 7pm Newsday although not very detailed. They said that there were reports that  the Al Qaeda leader had been killed. Looks like both CTV and CBC news nets are carrying Pres. Biden's address, along with BBC and CP24.
