Longtime Peterborough Broadcaster Ends 46 Year Career

Gord Gibb started with CHEX and ended with Fresh FM, finishing up 46 years in the market. His final show was on Friday afternoon. Lasting almost half a century in the business is pretty amazing. Doing it in the same market is incredible. And given the state of the industry, it's not likely to happen very often anymore.

Gord Gibb signs off after 46-year career in radio broadcasting in Peterborough

met Gord when I was a PT'r/Loyalist student in 1978. He was a good guy back then. Glad to see he's still "rockin' it" all these years later.

Gibb's also an excellent resource for info about broadcasting history in Peterborough and the Kawarthas... not just with CHEX Radio & TV, but also Lindsay's CKLY (one of his former stations) and others. Also worth noting is in some of his YouTube videos, there's a big Allen & Heath audio board behind him - that console was at the TV station's current location on Monaghan Road, prior to the Peterborough control rooms being decommissioned early in the Global era.

Gord was my PD at CHEX. Great guy - I wish him well.  46 years is quite a run.
