Vangelis 1943-2022

While he was perhaps best known for Chariots of Fire, he also composed Pulstar, a score that was used by several TV stations on both sides of the border as their news theme in the 80s. Notably, CBC Toronto for its News Final cast.

Another Vangelis composition, "Dervish D.", was used by Barrie's CKVR as its "Total News" theme in the early '80s, before the station adopted Keith Mansfield's "Flash".

In Canada, he and Jon Anderson of Yes also had a hit album and single with Friends of Mr Cairo.

Oddly, there was two versions of this album released, the second version added the song “I’ll Find My Way Home”. The album cover was changed as well. I still have my vinyl copy of the initial release and actually just gave it a spin a few weeks ago. R.I.P. Vangelis.
