New Ottawa-Area Facility To Be Named After Jon Pole's myFM

Jon Pole may be off the air in major markets like Montreal and Toronto after the Bell Media cuts, but he's been busy running his myFM radio empire. Now one of the company's newest locations will not only house a station but give the building a name. The myFM centre in Renfrew is expected to open soon with a number of tenants, and from the sounds of things, it will be a great place for employees to hang out when their shifts are over.

"When completed, the myFM Centre will include an National Hockey League (NHL) sized ice surface, an elevated walking track, fitness centre, regulation-sized gymnasium, dance/yoga studio, multipurpose rooms, youth drop in centre and administrative office; the existing centre includes the current rink, dressing rooms and the NHA/NHL Birthplace Museum."

And you thought having a lunch room in your shop was a big deal!

I hadn't realized until reading this story that Pole's father owned a station when Jon was a kid. So he comes by his radio background with some history.

Also interesting that a Rogers station would do such an extensive story on one of its radio competitors.
