Former CKOC Jock Trying To Get Elected As Liberal MPP In June Vote

His name should be as familiar to voters as to radio listeners in Steel Town. Jason Farr was a jock at CKOC and CHML, among other places, and has spent many years toiling on Hamilton City Council. Now he's trying to take another step up the political ladder, hoping to become the Liberal member of provincial parliament in Ontario for the area.

"Farr studied broadcasting at Niagara College and urban geography at McMaster University. He worked as a radio personality in Hamilton at CKOC, CHAM and CHML, and was the morning person on Y108. He also volunteered at Cable 14, and was the stadium announcer for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats and part-time host of Sportsline on CHCH."

Now normally a race for a Hamilton riding, even for a well-known name, would not be a big story. But his opponent is also famous and it will be fascinating to see who wins. Farr is being opposed by former CFL great Neil Lumsden, who's running as a Conservative candidate in the same riding.

Lumsden is nearly 70. Very late to be getting involved in politics.
