Virgin 99.9 P.D. Wins Radio Award Named For Rosalie Trombley

Karen Steele has toiled for Corus, NT1010, EZ Rock, Hits FM in St. Catharines, CING-FM, Kiss 92.5, as well as two stations in Kitchener. She now occupies the P.D. role at CKFM.

With a resume like that, it's small wonder she's up for a coveted prize.

Re: Virgin 99.9 P.D. Wins Radio Award Named For Rosalie Trombley

From the Broadcast Dialogue article:

>> Steele started her radio career as the Program Director of CRNC, the campus station at Niagara College, while studying in the broadcasting program. She joined 97.7 HTZ-FM St. Catharines as a “cruiser girl” in 1990, and seven years later was promoted to Program Director, the first female PD in Standard Radio history. <<

That alone would be a feather in anybody's cap, and that was just the beginning in her career. Kudos, Karen,
on your well-deserved award, rather fittingly named after a woman who went from a part-time job on the
switchboard to a huge power in the North American music and radio business. Betcha Rosalie would be
very impressed with your work.
